Holter blood pressure monitoring (24-hour blood pressure monitoring)
A Holter blood pressure test, also known as 24-hour blood pressure monitoring, is a diagnostic procedure that allows for continuous measurement of blood pressure for 24 hours outside of a medical facility. This test provides your gynecologist with detailed information about blood pressure fluctuations at various times of the day and in different situations, offering more insight than a standard blood pressure measurement taken in a midwife or gynecologist's office.
The test is essential for ruling out or confirming a diagnosis of gestational hypertension or preeclampsia when elevated blood pressure readings are found. It also helps evaluate the effectiveness of treatment for previously diagnosed hypertension. Furthermore, a Holter blood pressure test is particularly valuable for women undergoing an OSCAR test or a preeclampsia risk assessment, especially if they experience “white coat syndrome.”
The cost of the examination will be added to the midwife's consultation fee.
