Emergency situation at Fetal Ultrasound Center
Dear Fetal Ultrasound Center patients.
Due to the emergency in Estonia regarding the pandemic spread of the SARS CoV-2 virus, several restrictions have been introduced at the Fetal Ultrasound Center. For the health of you, your loved ones, and the staff of our Fetal Ultrasound Center, we ask that you take these restrictions very seriously and comply with them.
- Fetal Ultrasound Screening is restricted to the patient and only one support person is allowed.
- To give blood tests, please come to the midwife or nurse's office without a support person.
- If you are ill, have recently arrived from a foreign country, or have been in contact with someone diagnosed with COVID-19, please cancel your appointment by calling us at 656 6162 or 521 0046 and ask our administrator for a new date.
Patients with viral and cold-related diseases will not be admitted to our Ultrasound Center!
- If you have had symptoms of respiratory tract inflammation (e.g. fever, cough, runny nose, sore throat) in the past two weeks.
- If you have been in contact with someone infected with COVID-19 within the past two weeks.
- If you have arrived from a foreign country within the past two weeks, after which self-isolation is mandatory.
In all of the above cases, you can come to the appointment if you and your support person have had a negative COVID-19 nasopharyngeal test within the last 48 hours before your visit, which can be done by prior arrangement at the Confido Medical Center.
Although it is safer to come for examination at the Fetal Ultrasound Center instead of a large hospital, we strive to minimize the number of people who visit our centre. The more people in the waiting room, the more likely they are to be infected and to transmit the virus.
- When a patient arrives at the Ultrasound Center, they must disinfect their hands and she places a protective mask in front of the face.
- Please follow the 2 + 2 rule in the premises of the Fetal Ultrasound Screening Center
- At the Fetal Ultrasound Screening Center, the gynaecologist performs the ultrasound examination using protective gloves, and uses is a replaceable protective sheet for each patient. The ultrasonic transducer is disinfected after each patient.
- At the end of each workday, all rooms are ventilated, the floors are wet cleaned and the work surfaces are disinfected.
- The staff of the Fetal Ultrasound Center has been vaccinated against the coronavirus.
The ones having come from farther places can spend their time in the restaurant or the cosy lounge located on the first floor of Tammsaare Ärikeskus.
I appreciate your understanding in these unusual times. The small staff of the Fetal Ultrasound Center will do everything in its power to ensure the safety of mothers and their fetuses.
Best wishes,
Dr Marek Šois
