Pregnancy week by week
Selected week: |
You
Your salivation could have increased and maybe you have also noticed the increased appetite? Still consider that although you should eat for both, it does not mean the duplication of food portions. You could face insomnia as a new complaint which might be caused by anxiety of becoming a mother.
Your baby
Although you do not feel it yet before one or two months, the baby moves actively hands and legs already during week 11 and the more it develops, the more energetic it becomes. As the fingers of the fetus have separated, it can soon clench hands into fists. Its coordination is already so good that it is able to touch its head. It is especially interested in the mouth which can be opened now and tongue has been formed. The sense of smell and taste is developing, thus the future baby feels taste for the first time. The head of the fetus is still big, but its growth starts to slow down. The testicles or ovaries have been formed. In the given stage of pregnancy the sex of the fetus can be already assessed in ultrasound. The possibility to error is 10%. The most important stage of development is over by now, the period of fast growing and maturing lasting up to the birth is ahead.
Dr. Marek Šois recommends
Remember that all that is hazardous to you, is also hazardous to your child. If your stomach is still slightly empty, please take fruit instead of dessert. The pregnant have often headache and, if necessary, the medicine mitigating headache should be taken. The medicines in the counter sale in Estonia are not hazardous as a rule. The better you take care of yourself and let others do that, the healthier and happier the baby growing inside your stomach is.
