Ultrasound system
The ultrasound examinations are performed with ultrasound system Voluson E8 BT12. This is a digital 3D/4D ultrasound machine of a new generation developed for the conduct of gynaecological and obstetric ultrasound test. To create a picture of the fetus on the screen, the ultrasound device uses high-frequency ultrasound waves sent to the fetus and received by ultrasound probe.
Thanks to 3D/4D matrix probe (RM6C 1-7 MHz) in use it is possible to get a high-quality natural three-dimensional moving picture. The launching of the latter probe has created better opportunities to examine the fetal heart structures and bloodflows, thus the unique fetal heart failures can be detected and its welfare condition assessed. This probe is essential, as it enables to examine the fetal brain structures that could not be often assessed with regular probe.
Thanks to vaginal 3D/4D probes (RIC5-9D 4-9 MHz and RIC6-12D 5-13 MHz) with good resolution it is possible to get a high-quality picture of already very small details. Thus it is possible to assess the genetic markers of the fetus in already early stage of pregnancy and conduct the early screening of inborn heart failures and pathology of neural tube. The given probes are essential in examining the problematic fetuses during OSCAR test and in the situation where due to the position of the fetus or mother’s adiposity the minor details of the fetal organs cannot be assessed with abdominal probe. The vaginal probe has been designed so that most of the women do not describe the test as unpleasant.
The linear probe (9L-D 3-8 MHz) is essential in assessment of the wound scar after to Caesarean section and assessment the breasts. In certain cases the high-frequency linear probe gives the vaginal sensor additional information in assessment of the fetal brain or heart structures during OSCAR test.
The ultrasound systems is connected with the computer including special software analyzing the ultrasound test. The latter is used for processing and analyzing the data received in the course of ultrasound, after which the detailed excerpt including the doctor’s comments and recommendations is given to the patient as a printout. The answers of ultrasound tests are also sent to internet-based medical e-health digi-story where pregnant women can examine their ultrasound results through the patient portal.
The ultrasound systems enables to record the ultrasound test with sound and doctor’s comments on DVD, print coloured fetal 3D pictures on high-quality printer paper or send the pictures of the fetus and/or short videoclips through Ticefy cloud to smart devices.
The ultrasound systems is connected with internet through special computer programme, enabling, if required, to have real-time teleconsultations with foreign colleagues and get a second opinion in case of complicated development disorders.
The computer of ultrasound cabinet is connected with Quantus FLM programme of the University of Barcelona assessing the maturity of fetal lungs which enables to assess the readiness of the fetus for birth and coping and independent breathing.
No x- radiation, but high-frequency ultrasound waves within 1 - 13 MHz which cannot be heard even by dolphins and bats are used during ultrasound. Diagnostic ultrasound has been used in the world already for over 35 years. According to current viewpoints the ultrasound used for medical tests has no hazardous biological impact and thus this is safe for the pregnant and the fetus.
The ultrasound examinations to be performed can be followed by future parents from 40" LED wall monitor attached to the wall of the cabinet.
The ultrasound cabinet has a comfortable heated couch designed specially for obstetric and gynaecological ultrasound test which enables to change the position of the pregnant to decrease the discomfort caused by lying on the back during ultrasound.
