Selected week: |
You
The swollen uterus presses on the big blood vessels and thus you find it hard to stand for a long time. Your are really round and your body is gaining weight fast – you are gaining about half a kilo a week. You can feel the stretches of the fetus, its leg or other parts of the body through the abdominal wall.
Your baby
Your baby weighs now 2100 g and is about 43 cm tall. The baby’s brain develops intensively, thus the perimeter of its head also increases by taking a characteristic oval shape. The amount of amniotic fluid is not increasing anymore.
The baby’s skin is not so wrinkly anymore, as the adipose tissue under the skin surface is increasingly thickening.
If your baby is born now, it should probably spend some time in the department of newborns up to its body produces sufficient amount of antibodies which would support the whole immune system.
Dr. Marek Šois recommends
